CAD systems for roads — evolution prospects

The article summarizes a retrospective of the development of domestic CAD systems for roads, and attempts to predict the development of CAD systems for roads for the short-term. It deals with mathematical and organizational, technical and technological support of future CAD systems for roads. Special attention is given to the idea of supporting the life cycle of roads through information models.
